When I worked in the newspaper business, all the reporters groaned when it would snow because the brain trust would have one of us interviewing the stereotypical folks buying bread and milk at the local grocery store.
A funny (and unsubstantiated) theory quickly circulated that the local weatherman was in cahoots with the grocery stores in order to get people to buy food they didn't really need and stay home to watch more of the TV box.
A year ago, the main (and best) local TV weatherguesser Bob Caldwell retired (read more about that by clicking here) and I was surprised by his immediate move doing commercials for area businesses that aired on the channels operated by his former employer.
It was a pretty interesting move to say the least, but now Bob has pulled back the curtain and poked fun at himself and our little theory in the latest version of print and TV spots for a local grocery chain.
