Alex Robinson rules

Alex Robinson enjoys a (candy) cigarette at Heroes Con 2008.

Another treat I experienced at Heroes Con 2008 was getting to chat again with creator Alex Robinson.

I'm a big fan of his independent works Box Office Poison and Tricked and picked up his new book Too Cool To Be Forgotten, which he personalized and even drew a sketch in for me. As an extra bonus, he was giving out candy cigarettes as part of a promotion for the book.

I read Too Cool from cover to cover that evening when I got home and while it's not quite as deep as his previous work I really enjoyed it.

When I told a friend about the premise of a man undergoing hypnosis only to wake up back in his high school days of 1985, he kind of dismissed it as something he had heard before. Be that as it may, I found the storytelling very engaging and the ending is really quite touching and seemed warmly personable.

While there is no nudity in this book, something almost commonplace but firmly rooted in his other books, it's definitely worth your time.
